Valentine's Day

I hope your Valentine's Day was as wonderful as mine was. I am lucky enough to have four Valentine's! We had a pretty low-key day, but we did do a few extra things to make the day special. We started off with a special Valentine's Day breakfast (for me that means muffins and scrambled eggs, I'm not a breakfast cook), then the boys had their Valentine's Day parties at school, which is always fun. After school was over I gave each of the kids (and Justin) a special Valentine's Day gift, and we ended the day with a yummy dinner and cookies for dessert. We had a fun day. Here's the proof:
These are the Valentine's that the boys' handed out this year. We did these last year too. They're always a hit. I love them!

Noah made this hat at school. When I picked him up he told me he was a 'love bug' in that hat.
Cutest love bug I've ever seen!
Josie looks so grown up to me here!
She got to have a lollipop when the boys got home. You'd have thought it was the best thing that had ever happened to her.
Yum!
For their Valentine's gift the boys both got Iron Man helmets.
Josie got a stuffed dog.
One of my favorite Valentine's!
A few nights ago, the residency program had a spa night for all the ladies (awesome), one of the things I got done was a pedicure. The next day Josie was so fascinated with my toenails. She couldn't stop staring/touching them. I decided to paint hers too. She hasn't had her nails painted since she was teeny tiny so I was a little worried that she was going to be super squirmy. Nope. She sat as still as a statue and watched in awe as her toenails turned red. Our feet were very festive today!
Justin and I aren't really big 'Valentine's Day' people so we don't go as full out as we do for other holidays, but the kids were so excited about it that it's hard not to get all wrapped up in the excitement! Happy Valentine's Day!

Scenes from a Wednesday

It's been so cold and - let's face it - boring around here lately. Because of the cold we don't go to many places or do too much. Because of said boredom I decided that I'd give myself a little project to do. I took a few pictures of my day. Just for fun. I don't know how exciting it is, but I did get some pretty fun shots. Enjoy my Wednesday:
6:30 comes early. Clayton is usually really great about getting up, but it takes him a while to wake up. I love that he's still kind of out of it here!
Watiting outside for the bus (7:20). Does it look cold? It is.
Noah and Josie usually wake up right after Clayton gets on the bus. He (obviously) likes that I'm taking pictures first thing in the morning!
Josie was also a fan of having her picture taken early in the morning.
Playing around right before we had to take Noah to school.
Temperature outside at 9:00. Brrr.
So I slacked off a bit and didn't take pictures during lunch/naptime. That's my lunch/naptime too!
On our way to pick up Clayton from school. Josie HATES riding in the car. I don't know why she dislikes it so much but it's really frustrating. At least here she's just silently hating it, usually she's screaming!
Noah's being a walrus. It's his new favorite 'silly face'!
Without fail, this makes my day. Every day. When Clayton sees me at pickup, he always runs full speed with a big grin on his face and doesn't stop until he's in my arms for a big hug. Seriously, how can that NOT make your day!?!
Justin keeping the kids entertained while I make dinner. Josie found a pack of balloons so they all wanted one, funny thing - they're water balloons so they're near impossible to blow up. Justin didn't stop though until each kid had a balloon!
Post dinner play time. Missing a ribbon, no shirt, messy face. I love it!
I took this on Noah over the back of the couch (which is why it's upside-down). He loves to play with the vents. I wish he wouldn't (we've lost many things down there) but he loves the sound of the cars driving on the vents.
Clayton making a silly face right before bedtime.
Like I said, not the most exciting stuff, but this was pretty much my Wednesday.

Little House on the Praire

I remember when I was little, my mom would fix our hair like this and put big, thick yarn-like ribbons in it. It's so fun to have a little girl with cute, long, blonde hair to play with. I'm hoping to find some of the big thick yarn so that this summer I can put her in a cute romper and give her Laura Ingalls braids.
Love this cute face!

A Little Bit of Fun

In case you haven't heard, we're being slammed here with a blizzard in the Midwest. In case you're wondering, I'm not a fan. In my last post, I mentioned some of the things that were keeping us busy during our hibernation. Tonight Noah and I decided to have a little fun with the camera. He loves to make silly faces and we had a pretty good time. So I present, the many faces of Noah:
Pinch face.
Squish face.
Not sure what this one is, but it's hilarious!
Kissy face (this one's my favorite).
Sad monster.
Taco tounge.
"Look Mom, I'm a walrus!"
Crazy monster face.
Classic monster face.
Taco tounge, finger point.
Classic pootie smile.
Man I love this kid. It's a huge bummer that it's so blizzardy outside, but if I have to be confined to the house, at least I get to be confined with some awesome people!
