What is that bright light?

It's the SUN!!! Honestly, I can't remember the last time we had sunshine out here (yes, I'm dead serious). This week we have had unseasonably warm weather and sunshine! I think this is Heavenly Father's way of giving me a mid-winter boost. After living through two Vermont winters, I understand why people get seasonal depression. It is sad not to see the sun! Coming from Las Vegas, where you get sunshine 360 days out of the year, this came as quite a shock to my system! I love the sun, it makes me happy. Anyway, we had been shut-ins for about two weeks because the weather had been near or below zero (brrr). So imagine our joy when it got up to 65 degrees on Tuesday! We spent practically the whole afternoon outside. There was still snow on the ground so we were able to build a snowman, have a snowball fight, and make tracks (Clayton's favorite snow activity). The boys were bundled up - I am a bit overprotective - but I wore a t-shirt and gloves (I needed gloves to touch the snow). It was GREAT! Sadly, it rained on Wednesday so we didn't get to go outside, but by Thursday we were back outdoors! Clayton has missed his swingset so he spent at least an hour just swinging! Sadly, when we woke up this morning we realized that the snow is back. Anyway, we had a great couple of days of nice weather and I am glad that we took full advantage of it! Here are some pictures of our unexpected winter blessing:
Clayton was so excited because the snow on the deck had melted enough for him to ride his bike.

Here is Clayton making tracks all over the yard. He loves to make tracks in interesting patterns and then go up to the deck to admire his work.

This is Noah posing with our snowman. He loved being outside, but was having a difficult time walking in the snow (it was funny to watch though)!

Clayton let the snowman wear his hat. He was excited with the end result, but while we were building it he kept getting frustrated because he wanted to "throw the big snowballs"!

This is our snowman the next day! Can you believe how much the snow melted in just one day!?! Wow!

This is the backyard after most of the snow has melted. Actually this is only half of our backyard. This yard is the reason we bought the house. Every time I get frustrated with how old and small our house is, I look outside and think how blessed we are to have such an amazing yard! I wish we could play in it year round!

We have had a really warm week here too. In fact on Monday I bundled up Torilynn to go get her shots only to find that it was uncomfortably warm with all the layers. I have decided the weather here is bipolar one day it is snowing the next day it is rainy, and then it is sunny. I am glad you enjoyed your warm weather. The pictures of the boys are really cute.

Well, yeah for the sun, about time I was getting sick of all your complaining about the weather!! Out here I have not really seen the sun yet, it is too foggy, but this weekend looks like it should be sunny, and boy am I ready for that

We have been so cold but today we woke up with fog and then it cleared with a blue sky! Ya a blue sky doesn't come around much during the winter months! So it is very appreciated when it does! It nice to have to bust out my sunglasses!

I like how big your backyard is. That is defiently a requirement when we buy!

I totally know what you mean. I always feel so depressed when the sun doesn't come out for weeks. The winter is kinda gloomy sometimes here, even though it isn't cold like it is for you. We're typically in the upper 30's lower 40's. But I seriously say my prayers of thanks when we get a beautifl sunny day. Can't wait for spring!

Hey, by the way, I'm pretty sure that we are going down to Vegas March 1st and then again in June. Becca's getting sealed to her hubby since she'll be a member for a year the end of February. So if we are there at the same time, I would LOVE to do some pictures for you.!

I remember you always being cold at good old Shady Brooke! I'm sure that the cold Vermont weather has been a shock on your system! I'm glad that it has warmed up litte bit! AZ is so sunny every day that we get excited when it is overcast...well, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side!

The snowman picture is a great visual to go with your words. It must be hard adjusting to such a drastic weather change. I am glad to hear you got to get outside and enjoy it!

I guess I take the sun for granted--I have even been known to complain about it :)--but, hey, it is REALLY hot here in the summer! I love the post and the pics! It made me appreciate the weather I have!

I also, love the post about Clayton going to Sunbeams. That is a big transisiton and it is weird when it is your first. It will all be worth it when he is up there during the "Primary program"--so cute!

Wade LOVES being a CTR! Every sunday he asks, "Am I still a CTR?" and is is happy when I tell him he is!

Sorry I have been a blog slacker--hopefully I will be better now!

Oh, yippee for melting snow! The sun is the greatest thing ever. Which is why I live here and not with you (although how fun would that be?!).

I love Clayton making tracks in the snow and then admiring his work. How cute he knows to do that!
