Halloween

This year we had a couple days of Halloween fun. We started out Friday night at the Stake Dance where the Zinke's, Petersen's and ourselves rocked the house with 'Thriller' (see previous post). Sadly (for me) Vanessa was the only one who dressed up for that. After seeing her amazing costume I was full of regret that I didn't go full out zombie. So I knew I had to make up for it on Halloween night.

We had the gang back together again on Halloween night. This time Justin and I went all out (or so we thought - Petersen's put us to shame). We decided we wanted to be rockers. Ever since we got the game 'Rock Band' a few months ago, we both think that we are rock stars. Halloween was the perfect time to dress like it! So I was full on '80's rock and Justin was Alice Cooper. We had to scavange a bit for our costumes but I was pretty pleased with the end result.

Of course, Halloween is really all about the kiddies. This year Clayton knew early on what he wanted to be. Wall-E. There was no substitute or alternative option. He was adamant about it. So, I caved and hunted down his costume. He was hilarious this year. He told me that he was going to give people 'tricks' this year. After every house that he trick or treated at, he would do a little robot dance for them. That was his trick. I LOVED it!!
We had several options for Noah - he could have been a monster, Woody from Toy Story, or Mickey Mouse. He wouldn't decide. I think he just had too many choices. So I ended up choosing for him. Mickey Mouse. Hands down the right choice! Mickey is always a huge crowd pleaser and this year was no different. He was so cute and so happy with the choice!
Josie was a witch. Oh so cute. I can't get over how adorable she looked in her costume. Even though she only wore it for about 15 minutes, it was probably my favorite costume of the night!

We obviously spent some time taking photos (courtesy of Vanessa - thanks again - the pictures are great) and then it was off to trick or treat! Noah wasn't as into it as I'd hoped he would be. He was pretty much done after only a few houses but we kept on going because Clayton was ready to go all night! That is a boy who definitely understands what this holiday is all about! Our neighborhood, as always, delivered in the candy department. The kids (i.e. - me and Justin) made out like bandits!
Getting ready to trick or treat. Check out Missy and Chase!! Impressive. They put us to shame. Missy was a hip hopper and Chase was emo. Awesome.
The kids with Clayton's loot. (Noah got just as much so Justin and I are definitely going to be gaining some weight here pretty soon.)

After letting the boys play off their sugar high we put all the kids to bed and had some real fun! We made doughnuts, played Rock Band, and watched Gremlins!! I hadn't seen that movie since I was about 6. It terrified me back then and, while it was comical now, I can see why it scared me then. Pretty gory and terrifying stuff for a kid. Just a couple more pics of our night:
Noah making a scary face.
Justin and I decided that this picture was cool enough to be our first album cover. Even if Chase is stuffing his face in it!
Rockin' out!
I love Justin's costume. He kind of scared the boys a little bit.
Rock hard, or don't rock at all!
The couple that rocks together, stays together!
For the back of the album.
So there you have it. Our Halloween was one of the best I've ever had. I haven't dressed up in years but it was so fun. Plus, you couldn't beat the company. Here's one last picture to top you off:

Happy Halloween!
