Last week was spring break. My boys had been looking forward to it for a while and were so excited when it finally arrived. I knew that I wanted it to be special and fun for them. So, on the first Friday of vacation (they had Good Friday off - it was kind of a fun kick start to their break) we all sat around together and brainstormed ideas of fun outings and activities that we could do together. When we had a pretty good list we made a calendar:
The calendar was perfect for a few reasons: 1. It gave the kids something to look forward to 2. The kids didn't wake up every morning asking me, "What are we doing today?" 3. It forced me to be accountable everyday (that's why the gym shows up on the calendar so many times).
Favorites of the week: 1. swimming - I learned that Clayton actually remembered what he learned last summer and can swim all by himself (YAY). 2. Going to the movies - Justin took the kids to see 'The Croods'. They loved it! 3. The Zoo - it was really fun. We got a season pass and I can't wait to go back!
Truthfully though, it was all really fun. On our movie nights we watched 'Rockadoodle' and 'Atlantis: Search for the Lost Empire'. Old movies, but the kids really liked them (especially 'Rockadoodle' - go figure). We had a fun game night where we had Connect Four and Guess Who tournaments, and Bremen Bounce was definitely fun (and tiring) for all involved.
It was a great week. I am kind of sad it's over (although I'll admit it's nice to get back to the normal routine). It was really nice to get to have the kids home for a whole week.
One of the most exciting things that happened over spring break though actually had nothing to do with vacation. Sammie had her LAST DAY OF PHYSICAL THERAPY!!! She is now officially all caught up and doing beautifully so it was time to end the PT. Cause for celebration for sure. One thing we will miss though is seeing Miss Cathy (the PT) every week. She is such a sweet and loving woman and I have appreciated so much how patient and kind she has been with my sweet baby. We've been seeing Miss Cathy every week for about a year now so, while it will be nice to get our Friday mornings back, we'll definitely miss having her in our home.
So congratulations Sam! We are so proud of you and all you've worked so hard to accomplish this year. We love you!
PT was always such hard work, she usually ended up somewhere passed out like this shortly after it was over. Poor baby. I love it though!
