The Best Biggest Brother

I am going to finish posting about our vacation soon, but I wanted to do this while it was fresh on my mind. Clayton is such an amazing big brother. I am not sure how Justin and I got so lucky with him, but we really did.

During our vacation Clayton learned the meaning of the word 'protect'. He would constantly ask me if I wanted him to protect Josie. I finally told him that I needed him to always protect her, whether I was in the room with them or not. He told me that he would and I believe him.
Anyway, Clayton takes his role as protector very seriously. My current favorite thing that he does to defend her is constantly correct people about her name. We call her Josie. That's Jo-SEE, not Jo-ZEE. I knew that when we chose that pronunciation that people might mispronounce it occasionally, but since people are constantly mispronouncing my name I'm okay with it (or at the very least, I tolerate it). It bugs me a little when people say it wrong, but unless they are people who are going to be saying her name often, I don't correct them.

Clayton, however, gets very upset when people say her name wrong and is quick to correct them. It really bugs him to hear her name mispronounced. He's so adamant about it that certain members of my family (cough cough, Anisha, cough cough) mispronounce it on purpose just to hear him get all worked up. I love that he gets so defensive for her.

He is a great biggest brother on many levels. He loves her so much and is very aware of her and her needs. I hope that as they grow Clayton continues to be this protective of Josie.

I thought this was interesting:
Clayton at about 3 months:
Josie at about 3 months:

What can I say, when you do something well the first time - repeat!

That is so sweet!Josie is so lucky to have Clayton as a big brother. I have noticed that Landon also takes his role as big brother and protector seriously. There are few things that make my heart melt as much as when I see Landon put his arm around Tori and lead her to where she needs to go.
I can't believe how much Josie has grown. She does look a lot like Clayton did when he was a baby in that picture. So cute!

Aw, that first picture is so cute! Clayton and his little protective hand on his sister. Adorable. Hopefully that's something he keeps up for years. I want to call her joZEE just to imagine his stern look as he corrects me.

Clayton is such a great older brother, I remember being in Vermont when Josie was just born and finding Clayton holding her trying to take her up the stairs, Ha ha!! I do also think it is funny, and kind of annoying that he corrects everyone!
