10 Months!

Our darling baby, Samma Sue, is officially 10 months old today. I can't believe how fast the time is flying with her. I realize that time always flies when babies are growing up but it seems to be going warp speed with this little lady. Perhaps because I know she's my last and I'm trying to savor every second of her baby-hood, it's speeding by and I'm not liking that.

Sammie starting to get more mobile. She still refuses to get up on hands and knees and crawl, but she's figured out a system where she pivots and log rolls to get what she wants. She's becoming very accurate and it's evident by the fact that I'll set her down on one side of the room and seconds later she's unplugged the TV on the opposite side of the room (oh, she loves to unplug things). She'll stay sitting if we put her in a sitting position, but she won't go from laying down to sitting up on her own. She will, however, go from sitting up to laying down very intentionally. Progress. Slow but steady. Her physical therapy is helping and she's getting better at tolerating it. I'm hoping that she'll be crawling by 12 months and walking by 15 months. We'll see.
Intently watching Josie. She loves her siblings. They fascinate her. I love to watch her interact with them. She loves playing 'peek-a-boo' with them, watching them play with her toys (most of the time), or just watching them run circles around her in general. She loves taking a bath with Josie and gets really sad if Josie gets out of the tub first. I hope that my girls will have the same kind of relationship that I have with my sisters.
Sweetest little profile! A few of Sammie's new tricks include waving 'hi' (a personal favorite), rolling with purpose, and diversifying her babbling (it used to be just 'bababababa' but now we have 'dadadada' and 'mamamama').
Sammie has the sweetest little personality. She's not a snuggler, but she does love to be held. She's content most of the time (just don't leave her in a room alone - she gets bored easily) and when she is upset, it's really easy to snap her out of it.
Classic Sammie eating picture. We had mac 'n' cheese the other night and if I'd have let her she would have out eaten the boys! In my last post I discussed how I've had to cut her off from table food, but since she's doing better with the bottle I thought I'd reintroduce them once a day. She is always happy in her high chair with some table food. Also, I swear she knows the difference between 'people' food and the snacks you buy in the baby aisle. She'll eat the puffed rice snacks, but she'd much rather have a banana or an avacado. I have a feeling that taking the bottle away in two months is going to be a welcome change for this little eater!
I can't believe that in two months we'll be celebrating her first birthday. She's such a joy to our family. We all just adore her. Happy 10 months Sammie. We love you!
